Acoustic + Asana // Yin Yoga to Live Music
with George Dacheff and Lauren Pilat

September 21 (Saturday)
at 4:30 pm

Class length
120 minutes

Location
Osborne Park Studio

Spend a chilled Saturday afternoon being immersed in the dreamy acoustic melodies from Indie Folk Musician George Dacheff, from Perth, while experiencing a nurturing heart-led yin asana practice guided by local yoga teacher Lauren Pilat.

On arrival you’ll experience an energetic cleansing with the use of a smudge stick made from native plants to help shed the working week and put it behind you so you can be present and open to receive.

You’ll be welcomed into a warm cosy space, dimly lit with fairy lights, and invited on to your mat before being guided through a calming pranayama that promotes peace and self-healing.

Bolsters, blocks and blankets will support your restorative yin practice, allowing you to physically drop into your body with the intention to relax and let go.

As you slowly move from one asana to another, you’ll be serenaded by the melodic soulful sounds of George on guitar and piano, set to soften you off into a dream-like state. It will be a relaxed event with an emphasis on slowing down.

There’ll be space to stay and have a tea after the event to encourage connection. We look forward to seeing you there.

The evening is set to be advaya, meaning unique or original in Sanskrit. Advaya is a concept that is deeply rooted in our DNA, just as music is in George Dacheff and yoga is in Lauren Pilat.

George Dacheff:
Indie Folk Musician, George Dacheff, pours her soul's truth through music, connecting people with beautiful melodies and poetic compositions.
Accompanied by her piano or guitar, alongside her distinctive folky vocals, a unique and divine sound is birthed. Featuring tales of the paths she has walked, facing the dark and awakening the light. Music is her greatest teacher, providing her a space like no other to discover the depths. Teaching her what it's like in the calm of the ocean's floor, while on the surface the wild storm continues. Dacheff said music taught her trust, and that while she may not always understand the music right away, it's never wrong. "Always in tune with my heart even when it's too loud for me to hear, out pours my truth," she said. "It connects me to myself, and to all of you. This music is for me, but I would like to share it with you. May it bless you the way it blesses me. Pulling you from the outside in."

Lauren Pilat:
Lauren was drawn to the lifestyle yoga encourages while on her continued pursuit of connection - to self, community, culture, and the universe. She nurtures the wisdom this ancient Eastern modality offers beyond the physical asana and honours yoga as a practice of mind, body and soul connection - both on and off the mat. Like many certified yoga teachers, Lauren never intended on teaching and enrolled in training for self-study and to connect further with her own inner intelligence. That inner intelligence later led her away from an 11-year corporate career as a journalist and out of newsrooms into yoga shalas and studios. Since then Lauren has added Kinesiology, Neuro Trainer, and Reiki practitioner to her qualifications to complement the mental, physical and spiritual elements of her yoga offerings. She is currently studying a Diploma in Counselling to further support people holistically. Lauren has a natural ability to connect with people and is conscious of making everyone feel welcomed and included. Her warm and supportive nature is reflected in her classes where she caters to each individual by offering an inclusive and accessible practice with a focus on mobility, stability, balance and subtle strength.
